The Glorymen Mission Statement

The mission of The Glorymen is to spread, magnify and glorify the name of Jesus Christ through song. 

The Glorymen formed as they are in 1989.  Over the past 18 years the group has experienced several changes of personnel, but the mission of the Glorymen has never changed.

Lacy Pittman, who sings bass, is the only original member of the group who remains.  Wayne Coates, baritone singer, could be considered an original member because he has been with the group since 1990.  Over the years the group has had changes in tenor and lead, but the bass and baritone have remained the same.  Wayne and Lacy are the same age, well Lacy is six months older than Wayne and Wayne never lets him forget that either.  They both have been singing in quartets since they were 15 years of age.

For many years we sang with a three piece band, but four years ago we changed over to soundtracks and have never looked back.  Maybe one day, God will open the door for a piano player to play with the tracks.  As we have learned, and may I say the hard way on some occasions, things always work out in God's time and within his plan.

In 2004, our tenor singer, Tommy Young joined The Glorymen.  He has been an added blessing to the group.  Not only for his smooth, sweet tenor voice, but because of his heart and  love of God.  Tommy has been singing Southern Gospel music for over 30 years.

Tony Castleberry joined The Glorymen in April of 2008.  He is our newest member.  Tony has been singing all his life and has been involved in Southern Gospel for the past several years.  He was singing tenor prior to joining The Glorymen.  He is currently our lead singer.

While we love to sing, cut up and have a great time, our sole purpose for existing is to uplift the name of Jesus Christ.  We pray God will open doors to allow us the opportunity to witness to as many people as possible.  Please keep The Glorymen in your prayers.
